A Particularly Persistent Point of View - Take Two

"To try to understand the real significance of what the great artists, the serious masters, tell us in their masterpieces, that leads to God; one man wrote or told it in a book; another, in a picture." - Vincent Van Gogh

Lazy Monkey
Topic: General

"Hey Tige," I said to Mr. Tiger, the robot within, "today is one of those days when I've decided to take a break from expressing my point of view."

Always ready for rebuttal, the pest scolded, 'Well, if you ask me, you should take a break from expressing your point of view everyday.'

I giggled when I responded, "Monkey see, monkey do."

Drenched in Color
Topic: General

"Hey Tige," I said to Mr. Tiger, the colorless pest within, "it was a glorious fall Indian summer day here in New England - a perfect time to sit in the back yard watching the beginnings of our breathtaking fall colors come into bloom, while working on my newest hooked rug project - which by the way, is almost done."

'You should have gone. The foliage must be at it's peek in Pennsylvania,' said Mr. Tiger who was referring to the fact that I had planned to get a lot accomplished inside the house today, since Oz, my husband, left this morning for his yearly jaunt to Hershey with his car buddies.

Meaning it I said back, "The housework will wait. And besides," I added to answer his thoughts about the trip to Hershey, "Oz and I took in the entire region when we traveled back from Virginia this past summer after my nephew's wedding."

Jumping at the chance to make me feel guilty for staying home Tiger growled again, 'You would have liked a fall vacation more. You should have gone.'

"Not so," I replied before restating, "Spending the day in the yard working on my rug is a vacation from my usual routine. I enjoyed myself." I added too, "And may say also, I was inspired by my sister Colleen's post from yesterday. She wrote too about sitting in her back yard taking in the changing season."

With that I posted a picture that seemed fitting - a fun rug that I hooked a few years ago for my hall - one that I was able to make using a pallet of wonderful fall colored wool.

"Speaking of fall colors," I said additionally, before Tiger could say more, "here's a link to Watercolors by Catinka Knoth. Looking at the splendor of autumn in her Fall Fantasies note card collection is almost a virtual vacation."

Unscramble
Topic: General

"Hey Tige," I said to Mr. Tiger, the curmudgeon within, "pinch me."

'Eh?'

"Yeah," I said, "Pinch me. My computer's working now. I can put up a post," I said before going on to explain. "After a hectic day scrambling around at home, I noticed I hadn't left myself time to post an entry. I quickly decided on something that would not require a long time to prepare because it was close to 4:00 and I was supposed to be in to work by then.

'Yeah?'

"Well," I responded, "after looking through this and that I decided to do something with words. Words always fascinate me as you know," I added, "and it might be interesting for others too."

'Yeah? And the point?' he asked.

"I found the perfect picture to go with it," I told him. "I opened FireFox because I can't post pictures with Internet Explorer on my Tripod blog."

'And?' he mumbled, hurrying me along.

"And, I did get the picture up. I then closed out of FireFox to go back to Explorer to post the text."

'Back and forth? You can't do it all from one place?' he asked, pretending not to know that I've been doing it this way for months.

"It's a pain,' I complained, "especially when I was going to be late for work, but," I added, "I was happy to have something to put up at least, with only minutes to spare. Just as I was clicking to open Explorer - my computer up and freezes on me."

'Why are you telling me all this? It's nothing new. Your computer has been freezing a lot. You know you should get it...'

I went on without letting him finish his sentence. I knew what he was going to say. And I knew too I should get my computer fixed. Instead of telling him he was right, I said, "If I had taken the time to reboot, I'd would surely have been late for work."

I said too, "The reason I'm explaining is in case anyone tuned in and wondered about my entry. It was just the picture above. Did you wonder?" I asked.

'No,' he spit out, 'I doubt anyone even looked in.'

"Well anyway," I said at last, "below is what I planned on posting earlier - a list of 10 words."

After pasting I said, "Pinch me - I got it up without my computer freezing again!"

I ended with, "See if you can unscramble these."
